Hawaiian
Airlines Chooses Get2Hawaii's Online Solution
HONOLULU,
HAWAII April 20, 2001- Get2Hawaii,
an affiliate company of Honolulu-based Panda Travel and the first
business-to-business application service provider in the Hawaii
travel market, announced it has signed its first, major agreement
for the provision of online Hawaii travel packaging with Hawaiian
Airlines, one of the largest carriers in the Hawaii travel market.
With the agreement, Hawaiian becomes the first carrier to integrate
the Get2Hawaii Web-based application for real-time inventory management
into its current distribution strategy. Hawaiian will use the new
technology to augment sales of its HotTrips, an e-commerce offering
of inter-island travel packages that include air, hotel and car
accommodations.
"The
Get2Hawaii solution adds an important new distribution channel for
Hawaiian, ensuring that we'll be able to sell more inventory in
a highly perishable market. What's more, we'll have the tools to
help Hawaii travel resellers, as well as our own reservations agents,
easily and quickly create attractively-priced travel packages for
their customers and corporate clients," said Paul Casey, vice-chairman
and chief executive officer of Hawaiian Airlines.
"Our
partnership with Hawaiian, a top-tier player in the Hawaii travel
market, provides a crucial element of credibility and underscores
the need for the Get2Hawaii solution in the Hawaii market,"
said Susan Scott, CEO of Get2Hawaii.
According
to Scott, the partnership is particularly synergistic in terms of
providing a solution for Hawaiian at a time when Get2Hawaii is introducing
its new application and can benefit enormously from the feedback
of a major customer such as Hawaiian Airlines.
Likewise,
the Get2Hawaii offering allows Hawaiian to benefit from a software
application that was designed by travel industry professionals who
understand the urgent business needs of managing inventory in order
to increase load factors, and distribute inventory in real time.
Because the Hawaiian Airlines partnership comes at a time relatively
early in the product development cycle, the airline will be in a
position to impact current and future product features and functionality,
allowing the acquisition of a customized application without having
to incur the costs and lengthy cycles of internal software development
and lost productivity.
"The
timing couldn't be more perfect," said Scott. "It's a
classic 'win-win' strategic partnership for everyone. Hawaiian's
participation, coupled with Panda's entrenched relationships with
Hawaii travel suppliers, allows Get2Hawaii to offer resellers the
option of extremely competitive package pricing via a single, online
source for Hawaii travel bookings."
According
to Scott, the functionality, scalability and easy interface of the
Get2Hawaii solution requires minimal training, a short implementation
process and can be integrated into partners' existing Web sites
seamlessly, retaining the same look and feel in order to preserve
partners' brand identity.
The
commercial release of the Get2Hawaii Web-based application is slated
for mid-year, 2001. For more information about Get2Hawaii, go to
