Start-Up Taps Industry Leaders' Expertise for Online Venture
HONOLULU, HAWAII, April 20, 2001- Get2Hawaii,
the new affiliate company of Panda Travel, and the first business-to-business
application service provider in the Hawaii travel market, announced
its newly constituted Get2Hawaii Advisory Board. The Board will
hold its inaugural meeting on Friday, April 20, followed by a press
luncheon at the Halekulani Hotel. The ten members represent a veritable
"who's who" among travel industry professionals, and are
the acknowledged "movers and shakers" in the Hawaii travel
market.
"We
feel very fortunate to have such a stellar group of advisors available
to us. In their respective roles, each has either been a prominent
voice in the effort to propel the Hawaii travel and tourism industry
forward, or an advocate of the need to further diversify our State's
economy through technology," said Susan Scott, CEO of Get2Hawaii.
"By agreeing to sit on Get2Hawaii's advisory board, it is a
testimony to the need to embrace technology, and the Internet, as
a platform to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of Hawaii's
core industry."
The
Get2Hawaii Advisors include:
Robert
Fishman, CEO, Hawaii Tourism Authority
Chuck Gee, Dean Emeritus, University of Hawaii, School of Travel
Industry Management

Joining Ms. Scott at the meeting to introduce the new advisory board
will be Get2Hawaii chairman and founder, Jack Tsui, and the software
startup's board of directors. According to Scott, chief among the
meeting's objectives will be familiarizing the advisors with Get2Hawaii's
product development strategy in order to obtain their feedback and
input as early as possible in the product cycle.
"Our
unswerving commitment is to provide an online solution designed
by travel professionals, and I don't know of a tougher crowd to
ensure that we deliver on that promise than the advisory group we've
assembled," said Ms. Scott. "If we can meet their expectations,
we've know we've got a winner."
Ms.
Scott also pointed to the influence the group wields among travel
professionals and that leveraging their relationships will be a
